Expert Centre approach

Our specialists have extensive international experience and follow a field proven methodology ensuring a structured and detailed way of working. Their mission can cover your complete project or just a part of it, from the start untill deployment.

Your project can be a migration, for example from magnetic stripe to EMV, or a brand new implementation such as the implementation of an e-Commerce application.

Expert Centre Approach

1. Decide

Trainings and workshops

At the start of your project, the decisions to be taken are manifold whereas the knowledge might not always be available in-house. The Expert Centre organizes trainings and workshops during which you can learn the main principles of a certain domain: EMV, NFC, Mobile technology etc. Standard formulas are offered as well as tailor-made sessions.

Advisory services

Even if you have been trained or have the knowledge in-house, one of our specialists can advise you on specific subjects: wich technology to select, the impactsof choices, architectural decision, business cases,...

Concept paper

Before starting your payment project or migration, it is essential to have a structured overview of the requirements, risks, goals and objectives to create a carefully designed set of activities. In this document our experts gather all information that allows  to work out the functional specifications. The concept paper is made in close collaboration with you.

Writing of Request for Information (RFI)

This "RFI" is a standard business process whose purpose is to collect written information about the capabilities of various suppliers and to see how existing off-the-shelf applications can fulfil the requirements described in the Concept Paper.

The Expert Centre can help you write the details of the RFI, analyse the responses and update the concept paper, if needed.

Writing of Functional Specifications

This document describes meticulously of every component is implemented and should behave. These specifications can be used to purchase 3rd party software or to develop components in-house. It typically contains:

  • Overal data dictionary: name, format, description of data elements used in the system
  • Specifications of the terminal
  • Specifications of the different terminal applications
  • Specifications of the front end host including terminal-to-host interface
  • Specifications of the hardware security module

Prototyping

Using the building blocks of Integri technology we can program a PC-based prototype to simulate specific situations and check the impacts of card, terminal and host configurations. Without having to modify your application infrastructure and without having to evaluate in a live environment, this is the cost-efficient method to ensure a successful implementation. Prototyping enable to capture conceptual errors.

2. Plan

Project plan

In close cooperation with you, our experts define a project plan that includes the different milestones and deliverables.

Evaluation and Due Diligence

One the decision to move forward with the project is taken, the question arises whether parts of the project tasks will be outsourced or not. We can assist you with the evaluation and due diligence for in-house versus outsourced development  or in-house versus outsourced processing or other business processes.

3. Implement

Writing of Request for Proposal (RFP)

During the planning phase, the decision has been taken to outsource (a part of) the development or processing. Our experts can assist you with the writing of the Request for Proposal which will be sent to potential suppliers. Typically a RFP is made for each type of external deliverable.

RFP response analysis

We can support you with the analysis and make recommendations with regards to the vendor selection process.

Technical meetings with suppliers

After selection of suppliers, our team can take care of all technical meetings.

4. Test

Test plan definition

This phase of your project ensures that the necessary testing is done prior to bringing the new system in production. Our specialists can create a compelling test plan that covers all functionalisties of the overall system.

Test environment set-up

Includes the definition of the necessary test cases in addition to the creation of a complete test environment. If requested, thiswill include the right test tools for functional testing, stress testing, clearing and settlement testing, etc.

Type approval assistance

Occasionally, type approval is mandated by official industry organisations or payment schemes. Our experts can advise you and guide you through the different steps of the approval process.

Managed Test Service

We can set-up your own certification laboratory to re-test future implementations and evaluate 3rd party software. This typicalloy implies the definition of the necessary procedures and processes as well as maintenance of the test environment.

5. Integrate

Integration testing

In this phase we test the integration and interoperabilty and guarantee that the different components work together optimally.

6. Deploy

After the system is up and running, we ensure:

  • The evolution of the specification
  • The accreditation of all 3rd party software
  • The evolution of thecertification environment
  • ...
